It is a replacement of cash while you doesn't have enough cash in your wallet! Credit cards allow you to purchase the items you want and collect additional points in order to exchange items with certain points.  It is additional rewards for credit card holder!!

Where do you locate your credit card normally? 

In the wallet/purse, right? All the time, yes. Why do you still need to bring wallet out when you already have your "it is my wallet" credit card?!
